Dear diary
I thought I would never get out of that 'dark room'! My mom has been on her own planet. Between me and you, I wish she would make 'work' of them migraines she keeps getting, because it is getting to me now! It felt as if I have been sleeping forever and ever, but bless her, at least she did not go 'gaillivanting' and left me on my own.
Let me tell you about my mom. For some reason, her 'think tank' is her kitchen. As dad always says, when my mom says "I have been thinking"......he would reply "oh no, that does not sound good"! Fortunately for us, not too much 'negative thinking' has been coming forward from the kitchen. Firstly, she does not 'use the kitchen' so often....mainly to make this soup, just kidding, dad does get his regular meals as well, including me. Secondly, my mom has placed some kind of 'water feature' in the kitchen....mmmm, it seems to have a 'positive effect' on her!
I just heard her mumbling under her breath this morning, something about decisions taken by our city manager and the city council without consulting with the public. I personally think, if my mom had to be the city manager, she would embrace the public and all its citizens because she is a real 'softie'! There was this article in the newspaper last night that they are closing down the Snake Park.
Well, I know for a fact, my mom is not too fond of snakes, but she says the Snake Park did such a stirling job! If you find a snake on your premises, they always remove it for you. It was such a nice tourist attraction because you do get people, unlike my mom, that realy really like snakes!
They have this 'theory' about the 'golden mile' but she thinks they are just going to have another piece of 'wasteland' for 'elements and vagrants' to come and make themselves comfortable again. She cannot read 'between the lines'......the owners have gone missing......the city manager says they have been given notice 1 year ago! We think we need the Mayor of Cape Town to come and sort them all out! My mom is not really into 'politics' but she thinks that the Mayor of the Mother City has a lot of tenacity! Wow, I never thought this bird would come up with such a big word!
Dad is having Night Racing again tonite....so it is going to be a long day for me before I see him but he has a friend, my namesake, Barney visiting from Johannesburg so his day will not be too long as well!
Ciao for now, have a great weekend and I hope my mom wil 'get her act together'!
